Instructions to Modify Your Current Email Settings
NOTE: When noted yourdomain.com, you would type in your domain name.
To Modify an Existing Outlook or Outlook Express Account:
NOTE: There are many versions of Outlook and each one has different set up instructions, but the instructions below will give you what you need.
- Click on "Tools" on the Menu bar at the top of your screen.
- Since you already have an account set up, all we need to do is modify the settings:
- Change Settings or Properties
- Incoming POP3 Server
- Make sure the incoming POP3 server is mail.yourdomain.com.
- Outgoing SMTP Server using Your ISP
- If your existing SMTP server is your ISP (example: mail.mchsi.com), do not change it.
- Fill in your username
example: jdoe@yourdomain.com, not just jdoe
- Fill in your password
- Finish and you're done.
- Outgoing SMTP Server using mail.yourdomain.com
- If your existing SMTP is mail.yourdomain.com, do not change it.
- Fill in your username
An example of your username is jdoe@yourdomain.com, not just jdoe
- Fill in your password
- Select the "Advanced Settings" button
- Select the "Outgoing Server" tab and click in the "My server requires authentication" box.
- Select "Next"
- Select "Finish"
- Finish and you're done
That's it....you're done.
Still Not Able to Get Mail:
- Some systems require different server port numbers. If you are still not able to get mail, go back into your account settings.
- Select the Advanced button
- Select the Advanced tab
- Change the Outgoing SMTP server port number to 26.
- OK and finish.
